Rwenzori Commodities Ltd is a part of Mukwano Group of Companies.

It was started 20 years ago by Mr. Amirali Karmali, now Chairman of the Group. Rwenzori Commodities is a very special Company, since the family roots lie in Fort Portal, Kabarole district, the very location of the tea gardens at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.

The Chairman, Mr. Amirali Karmali rehabilitated the war-ravaged land left behind by the expatriate community during Idi Amin's time.
What one sees today in Kabarole district is an effort rewarded by miles and miles of tea gardens boasting of some of the world's best teas that are well known in the international tea houses all over the world.

Rwenzori Commodities Ltd produces different grades of tea mainly: PF1, PF, BP1, BP, PD, D1, DUST, FNGS & BMF. These grades are known in the tea auctions under four factories: Buzirasagama, Hiima, Kigumba & Munobwa.
